Revisiting the roots of my journey always ignites a powerful flame within me.
My love and passion for nature trace back to my childhood as a proud Saskatchewan girl who adored both love and the natural world. Growing up surrounded by a family of nature enthusiasts—my parents, three siblings, and my closest companions—we embarked on countless adventures exploring the farm, crafting enduring memories, and strengthening our bond. I vividly recall being enchanted by the timeless tales of love and connection portrayed in stories like the Lorax, the Lion King, and A Bug's Life. These narratives celebrated the profound interconnectedness between humanity and nature, resonating deeply within me.
Even in my youth, I sensed empowerment, yet pondered, "What could a little girl from Saskatchewan do?"
As an elementary school educator, sharing my evolving passion with my students revealed something magical. The spark that initially ignited my love for wildlife conservation now blazed brightly in their hearts. It became evident—they cared, reflecting the passion that set me on this journey in the first place.
Amidst the intensity of my passion, I encountered challenges in finding my place. I dedicated years to igniting the classroom with my passion. There were times where I felt so alone, overwhelmed or discouraged by the daunting obstacles we faced. However, through the practice of yoga, reiki, and meditation, I rediscovered my inner strength and connection to the beauty of the natural world. These practices became invaluable tools, empowering me to take inspired action.
Though there were moments where I suppressed my calling, I've now embraced a mindset of abundance. I am prepared to learn, remain open, and contribute to reigniting the connection to nature in any way I can.
During moments of uncertainty, I am drawn back to the initial spark—the one that ignited my commitment to this journey. It serves as a reminder of the passion that has guided me since childhood and the responsibility I feel toward the young hearts that continue to inspire me.
With my eyes closed and hand on my heart, I feel the boundless energy and passion of those young individuals. Their enthusiasm serves as a constant reminder of my purpose and fuels my determination to make a positive impact.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Thank you for reading my why, I hope it reminds you of yours.
With love,
